I have over 14 years experience working within the NHS delivering psychological therapy and can work with adults or children. My areas of expertise are anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), stress, depression, coping with traumatic injuries, distress related to appearance or the body (e.g. due to scarring or disfigurement), and adjusting to and coping with physical health problems (e.g. chronic pain, an upsetting diagnosis).

My current NHS role is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in Burns and Cleft Lip and Palate.

If you are seeking psychological therapy for yourself or your child, please contact me and if I feel I may be able to help an assessment will be arranged. This will allow me to assess the difficulties and identify goals for therapy. A course of psychological therapy sessions can then be planned, typically weekly or fortnightly. Although an individual’s past may be discussed in order to understand current problems, my approach is largely present-focused, working with the here-and-now and identifying current barriers to change and improvement.

I believe in evidence-based practice (practicing what we know is most effective, based on good quality research) and therefore my main therapeutic approaches are cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and eye movement desensitisation and reprocessing (EMDR).

British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies

I am an accredited Cognitive and Behavioural Therapist with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), which means that I have been formally assessed in my CBT skills and meet strict accreditation standards.

I practice from a professional and welcoming consulting room in Dronfield, North East Derbyshire, which is particularly convenient for clients travelling from the Sheffield, Chesterfield and North Derbyshire areas.

Please contact me with any queries.
